Laboratory notebooks

RateMonitor is the current operating platform. It collects market data, compares rates, and applies the revenue manager’s decisions. These notebooks do not describe a replacement product. They explore questions that become possible when the current platform and its data are considered together.

Each notebook studies one connected problem. RateHighway already works with demand pickup, cancellations and no-shows, one-way rentals, length of rent, and utilization. The notebooks ask what becomes visible when these signals are used together. The operator still sets strategy and guardrails.

  1. The week as one object

Rate, utilization, and length-of-rent mix considered as one decision. One view instead of separate tabs.

  2. Possible futures

Several realistic versions of the coming week. Policy under uncertainty instead of one forecast.

  3. The fleet as a network

Cars, locations, and one-way rentals treated as movement through a network. Price for the fleet you will have after the cars move.

  4. Competitive intent at curb speed

Competitor rate changes treated as events that may show intent. The system observes and informs; it does not set the price.

  5. Length of rent as an instrument

Rental durations shape fleet availability across the week. This is not only a discount schedule.

Horizons explains this worldview in public language. These notebooks add technical detail and mathematics. They show a research direction, not a finished paper or product. If you work in car rental and recognize these problems, you can send us a question.
